Subject: Sound project help! Call me and sing your ringtone!
Hi folks,
I know we’re all pretty much in the finals crunch, but if you are looking
for a study break activity, I am hoping you’ll consider doing me a favor. I
am currently creating a sound project about digital identity and
communication for Sound Environments and would love your help!
It’s pretty quick, easy and painless. All I need you to do is:
1) Call (347) 699-7464 (a Google Voice account I’ve set up for this
purpose).
2) Perform the sound of your own ringtone as a voicemail message. Your
performance can be singing, humming or some other creative non-digital
performance.
3) Tell me (in your message) something about your ring tone. What you think
your ring tone says about you, why you picked it, how it makes you feel
when you hear it, or anything else you might want to share about your ring
tone. It will only take you a couple of minutes, be relatively painless
(perhaps even fun?) and would really, really help me out. And don’t be shy
- I won’t be using any names in the final piece!
For me to be able to incorporate it into my project, I need you to leave me
a message as soon as possible. The earlier, the better, but no later than
midnight on Monday.
Please feel free to forward this message along to anyone else you think
might be willing to share their ringtone performance with me!
